Celestial Tide is my tribute to the healing power of the ocean—a force that has always held deep meaning for me. Growing up, I found solace in nature, but it was the beaches that truly became my sanctuary. There’s something incredibly grounding about being near the water. It’s a connection to my Hawaiian heritage, where the ocean is not just a backdrop but a life force, a source of wisdom, and healing. For me, the beach is where I go when I need to reconnect with my roots, to remember who I am and where I come from. It’s where I feel the closest to the earth and the greater forces at play.

In creating Celestial Tide, I wanted to capture this feeling of being anchored in something timeless yet ever-changing. The sea shells and starfish you see embedded within the piece aren’t just decorative elements—they’re a reflection of this journey. I hand-crystalized the starfish, turning them into symbols of transformation, strength, and resilience. The process was both meditative and intentional, mirroring the ocean’s way of gently shaping and polishing everything it touches. The shells, too, hold meaning—collected and preserved to show that even the most delicate forms can endure, evolve, and shine.

As with much of my work, nature’s influence is constant. The ocean’s pull is like the tides of life—sometimes gentle, sometimes powerful, but always moving us forward. With Celestial Tide, I hope to convey this sense of calm and peace, but also a quiet strength. The rhythm of the ocean reminds me that it’s okay to drift, to trust where life is taking you, and that even in times of uncertainty, there is a grounding force guiding you.

I hope this piece brings you the same sense of peace and grounding that the ocean brings to me. Whether you’re connected to the sea or not, I believe we all have places—whether physical or emotional—that offer us refuge. Celestial Tide is my way of sharing that sanctuary with you.
