Ethereal Tempest is a reflection on the quieter, yet equally devastating side of feminine rage. While other pieces in my Feminine Rage series, like Ignited Essence, explore the fire of anger that burns and consumes, Ethereal Tempest focuses on a different kind of rage—the kind that is subtle, unassuming, and deeply underestimated. It’s the rage that feels like the depths of the ocean, calm on the surface but with the power to drown, pull, and completely engulf.

This piece was inspired by the imagery of a storming ocean, a hurricane spinning with intensity but still maintaining its elegance and rhythm. The swirling blues and whites evoke both the serenity and chaos of water—soft, fluid, and graceful, yet unrelenting in its force. The preserved flowers, shimmering crystals, and natural shells embedded in the resin remind us that even within a tempest, beauty and growth can emerge.

Creating this painting was an emotional journey for me. I poured into it the quiet anger of moments when I’ve felt unseen or unheard, when my emotions were dismissed simply because they weren’t loud or fiery. I’ve often been told that calmness is a strength, but I’ve learned that even calmness has its breaking point. The ocean may appear peaceful, but it has the power to pull you under without warning.

Ethereal Tempest is about reclaiming the parts of ourselves that society often overlooks—the quiet power, the hidden depths, the emotions that don’t need to shout to be valid. It’s for anyone who has ever been underestimated because their rage wasn’t loud or obvious. This painting is a reminder that even the most unassuming forces can change everything, that feminine rage in all its forms—whether fiery or calm—is an essential part of who we are.
